If you find you’re sending emails to the same people all the time during the day in Outlook, it’s tedious entering in their addresses individually. Today we take a look at creating Contact Groups to make the process a lot easier.
Create Contact Groups

Open Outlook and click on New Items then select More Items now click on Contact Group.

This opens the Contract Group window. Give your group a name, click on Add Members, and select the people you want to add from your Outlook Contacts, Address Book, or Create new ones.

If you select from your address book you can scroll through and add the contacts you want. If you have a large amount of contacts you might want to search for them or use Advanced Find.

If you want to add a new email contact to your group, you’ll just need to enter in their display name and email address then click OK. If you want the new member added to your Contacts list then make sure Add to Contacts is checked.

After you have the contacts you want in the group, click Save & Close.

Now when you compose a message you should be able to type in the name of the Contact Group you created.

If you want to make sure you have everyone included in the group, click on the plus icon to expand the contacts. You will get a dialog box telling you the members of the group will be shown and you cannot collapse it again. Check the box not to see the message again then click OK.

Then the members of the group will appear in the To field. Of course you can enter a Contact Group into the CC or Bcc fields as well.

Are you having problems with your PST (personal folders) in Outlook 2007? If so, there is a simple way to take care of any issue or corruption you may have with your PST. Outlook automatically includes a PST repair tool called Scan PST.

Steps to be followed:

Two things to be followed before repairing your PST:

   1. Make sure Outlook 2007 is closed
   2. Locate the PST file that you will be repairing and note that location so you can get back to it later.

Once you have completed the previous two steps, navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12(where “C” is the letter of your hard drive) and find the SCANPST utility.

1. Double click on the ScanPST utility and the Repair window will open. Click the “Browse” button and navigate to the location where your PST lives and select the PST you want to repair.

2. The name of your PST will show in the window. Click the “Start” button to begin scanning your PST.
Note: There is no need to worry as this only does a scan on your PST and does NOT make any changes. This will only detect any problems.

3. The scan will go through 8 steps. The amount of time it will take to complete, depends on the size of your PST.

4. When the scan completes you will see the summary window of what the scan found. The important part is that it will tell you if you have any error in your PST.

Now you can repair your corrupt PST. I highly recommend making a backup of your PST before you repair just to be safe. So check the box to make a backup and click the “Browse” button to select a location for your backup. (Save the backup to your desktop since the repair will be fine and you can delete the backup when you are done.) Now click the “Repair” button to repair the PST.

5. The repair will process your PST and complete and you will see a confirmation message that the repair is complete.

You can now delete the backup that you made and saved to your desktop. Open Outlook 2007 and you shouldn’t see any more issues with your PST and Outlook 2007.

Have you ever closed word document without saving. I am sure every single user will do this once in a life. MS word provides an option to setup auto recovery of documents. This can be happen in any version of Word document.
To repair Word 2010: You can use two methods:
1)  First Method:

File menu>>click Recent>>Click Recover Unsaved Documents.

2) Second Method:

Select File > Options > Save>>Select the Save AutoRecover information every … Minutes

Once it done, set the time interval to something like 20 min or 30 min as per your requirements. Then, Select the "Keep the last autosaved version if I close without saving" check-box. After that Browse and select another location if you do not like the default autorecover file location. Click OK to save the settings.

Just like word 2010, you can also use autorecover feature in Word 2007, 2003, 2002. But the steps are little bit different. Here are all steps:

3.In the AutoRecover file location box, note the path, and then click Cancel.
4.Close Word.
5.Open the folder that you noted in step 3.
6.Look for files whose names end in .asd.

Word 2003 and Word 2002

2. File Locations>>AutoRecover files>>note the path>>Cancel>> close.
3.Close Word.
4.Locate the AutoRecover file location.

Final Note: When you are opening the unsaved word document then you can also use Open and Repair option for troubleshooting word documents that might have got corrupted or damaged.
